How to have a fantastic Birthday - "Sammy Style"!

1. Wake up on your birthday to discover that you have a train table and train set all of your own that doesn't belong to your brother Will.

2. Keep your back to your brother Will when opening your presents so he can't "help".

3. Share your Birthday with your Daddy - how special...especially when you are exactly 30 years apart.

4. Plan a "boys" celebration (Mummy is allowed to come)

5. Go to a restaurant where your Mum can embarrass you and your Dad by getting the staff to sing Happy Birthday to you.

6. Blow out your candles and wish for more presents.

7. Have a birthday party and get really excited when you have more presents to open (hey maybe that birthday wish came true!)

8. Be polite and pretend to enjoy opening the cards as well as the presents.

9. Ask for "more" and ye shall receive!

10. Trick your brother and his friend Lachlan into climbing to the top of the climbing frame so that you can steal his swing!

11. Organise an egg and spoon race - it's lots of fun.

12. Send the big boys to the front yard to play Bocce so that they can't beat you at the egg and spoon race.

13. Wear Auntie Jacki and Richard out playing totem tennis so that they are too tired to eat birthday cake and there is more left for you!

14. A sack race could possibly injure your friends and leave you with even MORE cake.

15. Tell Grandad to hold onto Harry's sack when the race starts, that way Harry will run off sulking and Grandad will have to run away from Harrison so that's another 2 pieces of cake.

16. Try to make sure your sack isn't bigger than you...

17. If it is, get your Dad to help you get to the finish line!

18. Have lots of fun going down the slide...

19. Then everyone else will want to slide too and guess what that means?? Yep - more unattended cake!!

20. Go for a swing with your buddy Riley :)

21. Pretend to fall over on the trampoline - people might feel sorry for you and give you their cake!

22. Get your Mum and Dad to make you a cake in the shape of your current favourite thing!

23. Cover your eyes if you can't bear the thought of anyone else eating your cake!

24. Make sure you get the piece of cake with the most lollies on it and hold tight to your plate so no-one can steal it.

25. Have lots of fun the next day playing with your trains. Save your legs from getting tired - don't walk around the table to play...just sit right in the middle!

26. Don't forget your annual photo with all your presents.

27. Embarrass your Dad by making him have a photo taken with his pressies too!

Kingscliff

Recently we visited our cousins Zach and Rose who are lucky enough to live at Kingscliff, just a stone's throw from the beach. We had a really fun day.

Camilla and Rose in their lovely new kitchen.

Sam, Bo Jangles and Auntie Lauren in the lounge room.

Sammy discovers the beach.

Collecting shells..

Paddling in the water.

Camilla and Rose check out the "sand hill" that the kids are planning to surf down on their cardboard boxes.

Harrison runs down the hill to check out its speed capabilities.

Will "sand surfing".

The kids decide to give up on the boxes and try jumping instead.

Auntie Lauren and Will paddle...well Auntie Lauren paddles and Will gets soaked!

Zach takes a running jump down the hill.

Beautiful Kingscliff beach.

Time to go, we all wave goodbye.

Mummy and Auntie Lauren were hoping for a quiet ride home and we obligingly all fell asleep 10 minutes later...though Will and Sam woke up when they smelt the gelati Mummy and Auntie Lauren sneakily tried to eat without them knowing!
