Twenty ways to have fun at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

  1. Take a notepad and make a list of EVERY animal you see. I did this and had 67 animals on my list when we left.

2. Look confident so when you get close to a Black Breasted Buzzard they arent tempted to pick your bones.

3. When asked to volunteer some help in one of the shows find out what you have to do FIRST. I had to feed a dead mouse to a Tawny Frog Mouth!

4. Find a Shingleback lizard to hold. They are really cool because the way they protect themsleves from predators is to have a face that looks identical to their butt. I think that's pretty clever (and funny).

5. No visit to a wildlife centre would be complete without holding a snake.

6. Go on a train ride.

7. Throw a stick into a stream and watch it float.

8. Try to catch it as it goes under the bridge.

9. If you don't find it...throw your arms up in dismay.

10. Get up close to a Kangaroo that has a Joey - so cute!

11. Rest when you get tired!

12. Compare your length to that of a freshwater croc. My Mum dared me to do this with the real saltwater croc and then looked alarmed as I set off to do so!

13. Make time to play on Wild Island - it's really cool!

14. Climb on this pretend croc then send a pic to some overseas rellies who won't know the difference!

15. Go for a really fast ride on the flying fox so that the only pic your Mum can get is a blurry one!

16. Play hard but always remember to watch out for spiders!

17. Try out all the slides.

18. Hunt for fossils.

19. Cuddle a cute and furry possum.

20. Last but not least - get the life squished out of you by a huge python!

All the ingredients for a perfect Day!
