David Fleay's Wildlife Park

As far as Harrison is concerned a holiday is incomplete unless there is some kind of wildlife involved. We had a fun day at David Fleays Wildlife park.

Just arrived...very excited.

Moor hens and their chicks were wandering everywhere in the park.

Some of the animals were really strange looking as you can see in this pic!

Will makes friends with a diamond python.

Brolgas stand up from their nest to sing and dance for us...apparently this is quite rare and it was spectacular!

Carol the wildlife volunteer realised she had struck gold with Harry and his interest in animals, but we think she may have gone home with a sore throat after answering ALL his questions.

Can you spot the Diego shoe?? Sam has this fascination with trying to throw away his shoes... we lost one out the car window and a pair in K Mart just before we left for our holiday. His strategy here was to throw one into the Cassowary enclosure. The rangers went in to retrieve it but cassowaries are very aggressive so it was quite the operation and involved the cassowaries being put in their "lockdown" shed. Nice try Sammy!

Tree Kangaroo

Water Dragon

Harrison pets a blue tongue lizard.

Oreo - ring tailed possum.

A tree Willaroo?????

Sam loved the soft and cuddly koalas.

One of the highlights for Harrison (of course): the saltwater croc feeding.

Chicken anyone?

Dinner's over, time to hide in the water and wait for some more.

Sam wasn't as excited by the crocs as the other boys were!

Harrison couldn't wait to touch the snakes after the show.

Will was less impressed LOL!!
